The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the most famous and visually striking buildings in the world. Built in a manner that appears to defy the laws of physics, it is actually very carefully designed to ensure that while it does prominently lean to one side, the tower will not tumble over. It is a truly spectacular structure which can be beautifully recreated using 3D Building Models.

If you download the 3D building model for the tower, you could discover the intricate details that make up one of the most famous buildings in the world. Every detail of the building has been faithfully recreated in the files, provided in DAE, 3DS, C4D and SKP formats. (see details)

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

As a starting point, the brilliant craft and design work can be explicitly seen in the beautiful recreations of the Assunta and Pasquareccia bells and the balcony area at the top of the towers. The stairway leading from the 6th floor up to the top is also modelled, providing exceptional realism. Coming down the building are 6 beautifully sculpted layers showing the columns and arches used to support and construct the tower, with the model even including the brickwork patterns on each floor. On the ground floor, the diamond shaped brickwork pattern has been faithfully and beautifully recreated, completed by the inclusion of the entrance door into the famous structure. The 3D Building Model of the Tower of Pisa truly is a wonderful piece.

The Leaning Tower is actually the bell tower for the Pisa Cathedral. It began to tilt due to the fact that the foundations were built on unsuitable ground, unable to support the weight of the structure. The tilt of the tower became more and more pronounced over the years, which has led to there being many attempts at restoring the structure to a fully upright position. Unfortunately, many of these proved unsuccessful at first, with some even making the tilt worse! Following an eleven year closure to the public from 1990 to 2001, the tower was reopened as a team of mathematicians, engineers and historians worked to correct the tilt and prevent the tower from collapsing. Their efforts have proved successful, with the tower now stabilized to the extent that it no longer moves for the first time in its history!

With 3D Building Models, the Leaning Tower is available to download, allowing you to replicate the construction for yourself. One of the most famous structures in all of the world, this is a wonderful 3D model to add to the collection straight away.
